Beaches/Picnics/Water Sports
Centered around Lake Arbutus, the Hatfield area offers 3 different beaches with plenty of room for beach games or just laying in the sun. You can also reserve beach shelters for group outings form either Clark or Jackson Counties website. 5 boat landings offer the opportunity to launch your boat for water skiing or jet skiing, canoe, kayak, or paddle board.
Hunting & Fishing
Wetting a line can offers a big variety including Musky, Panfish, Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Northern Pike, Walleye and Catfish. Not just the Summer months either, in Winter you’ll find many ice-shanties up and down the river.
In Fall you also find bow hunters and orange clad hunters during the annual deer season bagging their trophy.
Levis/Trow Mounds Recreation Area
Heading a bit north takes to the Levis Mound area that offers hiking and off-road fat-tire biking. A gorgeous Fall hike here will surely make you remember your visit.
Hiking trails are open in the Winter for cross county ski enthusiasts, and just down the road is Bruce Mound offering downhill skiing and snow-tubing.
Bruce Mound Winter Sports Area
Snow sports your preference, then nearby Bruce Mound offers downhill and tubing fun for the whole family.
Clark and Jackson County Trail System
Becoming evermore popular are the off-road trails for ATV/UTVs and snowmobiles in Winter. Over 230+ miles of groomed trails between both counties bring trail riders from several states to partake their adventure. Machine rentals are available locally.
Black River Falls Area
Just a short from Hatfield is Black River Falls with activities in and around the area. You'll find kayaking/canoeing, picnic areas and sandy beaches at Lake Wazee. Just up the road you'll also find HoChunk Casino with music, food, and entertainment. The Historic Downtown area offers unique shop and settings to explore.
If golf is more your style, then Skyline CC in Black River Falls or the Neillsville County Club will suit your needs. There is so much to do in the area, you'll have to make another trip or two to fit it all in...and we never mentioned anything about the scenic motorcycle rides you can enjoy around the area!
Neillsville Area
Heading north from the Hatfield area is Neillsville. Tour the Jail Museum, or go see Chatty Belle the talking cow at the famous Pavilion to pick up some cheese. Drive out to witness the spectacular Highground Veterans Memorial Area, or check out a show at the Silver Dome Ballroom.
